Ellie Topp BSc (Hons)
Ellie graduated with First Class Honours in BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from the University of Sunderland in July 2025, achieving over 1,000 hours of hands-on clinical experience across paediatrics, musculoskeletal care, neurorehabilitation, and major trauma rehabilitation. Her outstanding academic performance was recognised with both the Ede and Ravenscroft Prize and the Trail-Scott Award for excellence.
Before qualifying as a Physiotherapist, Ellie built a strong foundation in healthcare through a Healthcare Apprenticeship and over two years of experience as a Physiotherapy Assistant within the NHS. This early exposure helped her develop excellent communication skills, clinical confidence, and a deep appreciation for holistic, patient-centred care.
Since joining Cathryn Clark Physiotherapy, Ellie has undertaken further training and mentorship with Clinical Director Cathryn Clark and Clinical Specialist Sarah Buckton, further refining her assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation skills.
In addition to working at Cathryn Clark Physiotherapy, Ellie also works part-time with Newcastle United Academy as a Physiotherapist, supporting the development and wellbeing of young athletes.
Ellie is currently undertaking her Pilates training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) and will begin offering 1:1 sessions and classes from early 2026.
A compassionate and evidence-based practitioner, Ellie is dedicated to empowering her patients to achieve their goals. Her calm, empathetic manner helps patients feel supported and confident throughout their rehabilitation journey.
Away from work Ellie enjoys walks with her dog, training in the gym and supporting her beloved football team Newcastle United.
